The Stitch Before the Sentence

Sometimes I knit before I write. Not to procrastinate. But to build a kind of pre-language structure inside my bod first.

The rhythm of the needles.
The quiet of the row.
It tells my system:

“We’re creating now. Even if the words haven’t arrived.”

Knitting is, literally, how I lay the grid.
How I remember that creation doesn’t begin at the keyboard.

It begins in coherence.

Maybe that’s true for all of us: that the sentence starts before the sentence.
That the pattern forms before the post.

This is how I write - slowly, non-linearly, structurally. From the inside out.

How do you begin?
